That said, there are no strict rules. Our tips are here to inspire you, not to limit your style. Wear what makes you feel confident.
The most important thing
Wear What Feels Like You
It may sound like a cliché, but it’s true. Wearing something that feels like you makes all the difference. Imagine looking back at your photos from Prague and realizing you spent the whole session in an outfit that wasn’t comfortable or didn’t reflect your style. We do recommend neutral and earthy tones because they complement Prague’s architecture, but they’re only a suggestion. If you feel your best in bright colors or playful outfits, don’t be afraid to wear them. The most important thing is that your outfit reflects your personality and that, if you’re coming as a couple, your looks work well together.
Keep the Weather in Mind
The Czech Republic has four distinct seasons, so the weather can vary a lot throughout the year. Summers are often warm, winters can be very cold, and spring and autumn are known for changing conditions. Before your trip, check the weather forecast and, if possible, bring a backup outfit in case of rain. If you’re visiting in winter, make sure to dress warmly. We’ve had photoshoots end early because temperatures as low as -10°C can become cold quickly. We also recommend bringing a warm jacket, coat, or an umbrella that you can use between photo locations to stay comfortable throughout the session.
Opt for neutral, earthy colors
The simplest way to create beautiful photos in Prague is to choose neutral or earthy tones. This is our most common recommendation because these colors naturally blend with the city’s architecture and atmosphere. If you’re taking photos as a couple, choose colors that complement each other rather than perfectly matching. You can use the color palette ideas below for inspiration.
Choose clothes with movement
We recommend choosing outfits with some natural movement, such as flowy dresses, maxi skirts, wool coats, loose shirts, or even accessories like scarves. These pieces not only look beautiful in photos but also add an artistic element and create a more natural, candid feeling.
Heels or no heels?
Wearing heels for your photoshoot is completely up to your preference. However, keep in mind that Prague’s historic center is full of cobblestone streets, and our photoshoots usually include walking between locations. We recommend bringing a second pair of comfortable shoes, such as flats or sneakers, to wear between photo spots. Even if you are used to wearing heels, this little change can help keep the photoshoot smooth, relaxed, and enjoyable. 🙂
Should I bring more outfits?
For a 60-minute photoshoot, we usually recommend sticking with one main outfit. This allows us to focus on creating beautiful images without spending too much time changing. If you would like some variety, consider bringing small additions such as a sweater, different jacket, coat, or hat. These simple changes can create a slightly different look while keeping the flow of the photoshoot natural. For longer sessions, or if you really want to include multiple outfits, changing at a café along the way is possible (but depends on the location, it may not be possible). Just keep in mind that it can take some extra time and may require a bit more planning.
Do i need make up artist?
This is completely up to your personal preference. Ask yourself: Do I feel like myself wearing makeup, or would it make me feel uncomfortable because it’s not something I usually wear? Or maybe it’s something that makes you feel extra special and confident for this occasion? There is no right or wrong choice. This is your photoshoot and your special time, so feel free to treat yourself to any service that makes you feel your best. If you would like professional makeup, we can recommend a few talented makeup artists in Prague.
